Hillcrest Northern Rivers luxury spa cottage caters for only one couple. However we can cater for another two couples in the private guest wing of our main residence bed and breakfast, where we have 2 luxury bed and breakfast suites, private guest entry, guest lounge and massage room. The main residence B&B is ideal for guests who prefer not to self-cater. Please note, as specialists in Northern Rivers honeymoon and romantic getaways for couples we do not cater for children or pets, although we're happy to recommend local establishments who do.

The first thing you notice when you arrive at Hillcrest Retreat Cottage is the panoramic views from Mt Warning, which can be clearly seen from your QS Bedroom and large ensuite bathroom, to the rainforests of Springbrook Ranges. Then it's the peace and quiet that impresses you as you open the rustic timber gate to enter your own private rain-forest garden.

Stepping on to the verandah you take in the comfortable garden lounges, gas BBQ and again marvel at the views from your verandah to the rainforests and mountains of Springbrook and the Cougal Mountains which make up the border between New South Wales and Queensland ~ the photo at the top of this page was taken through the glass sliding doors from the lounge out to the verandah.
Enter your private romantic retreat and take in the fully equipped kitchen - complete with full size gas stove, microwave oven, fridge, cutlery, crockery, pans and anything else we can think of that you might need during your Northern Rivers escape.
At Hillcrest Cottage we give our guests the option of catering completely for themselves although we do provide light breakfast provisions on arrival. As an optional extra, guests can order our full Brunch Basket, including some of Tracy's famous home-made bread and home-grown free-range eggs or come to the main house and be served our full country style breakfast in the dining room (by advance arrangement only please).

The comfortable air-conditioned lounge has a
real wood fire (firewood provided during winter), stereo wide screen television, dvd player, stereo
system and a selection of books, games, cds and dvds for your enjoyment.
Through to your QS bedroom, with two double wardrobes, robes and plenty of coat hangers so you can comfortably find a place for all your clothes. Double glass sliding doors look from your bedroom straight to Mt Warning, as does the picture window in your large ensuite bathroom ~ so you can soak in your top of the range luxury double spa bath and take in the sights of Mt Warning at the same time.
If it's a hot day you'll be delighted with the split system
reverse cycle air-conditioning which will keep you cool until you can change and
take a dip in our solar heated salt-water swimming pool.
If you have decided on a winter
spa getaway then we'll have the real wood fire alight and ready for you so your
cottage is nice and cosy when you arrive (as long as you let us know your
approximate time of arrival of course
).

For those mornings when you need instant heat, the reverse cycle a/c gives you warmth at the push of a button and there's a heater in the ensuite bathroom so you can relax in your top of the range luxury double spa bath for as long as you like.
Hillcrest luxury Northern Rivers spa cottage accommodation is centrally located to 5 World Heritage listed National Parks, including Mt Warning, the spot where the dawn sun first touches east coast of Australia, golf, horse-riding, scenic joy-flights, arts and crafts markets, galleries and more. We have a range of tourist information on-site and will gladly help you plan the best things to see and do during your stay in the stunning Tweed Coast and Valley hinterland ~ or you may choose to just kick back and enjoy a massage or silk pamper session in the comfort of our your own secluded Cottage.
Meet our Pet Horse & Ponies
Big old Larry (pictured centre) the 29 year old "Boss" in the horse paddock, loves his two little girls - Bonny the Shetland Pony and little Gingernut Biscuit, the miniature pony.
Ginger loves human company and will cuddle all day if you want to!

Hillcrest is only 75 minutes drive from Brisbane, 35 minutes from Gold Coast airport and 40 minutes from Byron Bay ~ although if you're a beach person, then the Tweed Coast beaches are far quieter than those of Byron or the Gold Coast. Our central location, total peace, privacy and the fact that even when we're full we only cater for 3 couples in total make us an ideal honeymoon or romantic getaway destination.
