Retreat offers two bed and breakfast
suites in the main house private guest wing and one fully self
contained luxury spa cottage in its
own private rainforest garden.
Enjoy peace, privacy, spectacular views from Mount Warning to the
Springbrook rainforests, solar heated salt-water swimming pool, a/c,
open fireplace in the main house guest lounge and wood fire in the
cottage, massage and jolly good food ~ including home-made bread and
home-grown free-range eggs. Please be aware that as specialists
in peaceful and relaxing getaways, Hillcrest does not cater for pets or
for children of any age (including babies).

About Barbara Suttie
Winner of many art awards, local artist Barb Suttie is well known for her landscape oil paintings, landscape art prints
and giclee art images of the Mount Warning Wollumbin Caldera region.
Barb's paintings have featured in several issues
of "Australian Artist" magazine as well as book publications. With works
held in private collections across Australia and overseas, Barb's clients
include the Former NSW Government Premier Bob Carr and the Tweed Regional
Art Gallery.
Barb holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree Sub Major Art History/Graduate
Diploma in Education and has undertaken a diverse range of teaching roles.

Schedule
Barbara will meet with you at 10 am to introduce herself and have a chat about what you would like to create.
Barb will then give a demonstration to guide you
through the process of painting in either acrylic or oils.
You will explore colour mixing, tone, design and atmospheric perspective
with tuition tailored to what suits your individual style and meets your
personal needs. Barbara offers an opportunity to engage
with both the ideas and techniques of art making during the break.
Sessions usually finish around 2.30pm when you sit back, admire your artwork
and relax in the beautiful surrounds of the Tweed Valley.

Cost
Artist session: 10am to 2.30 pm.
Cost $200.00 for 1-4 people bringing own materials.
Materials supplied @ $20 per person extra. Cost does not include

Demonstration on board/canvas approx 10 inch x 12
inch primed with gesso. Recommend similar size or BYO a few and decide
for yourself. Can place light acrylic wash (violet, alizarin, yellow) as
base if you choose. Oil/Acrylic Paints eg: Art Spectrum/Windsor Newton/Infinity/other
Suggested colours:
Titanium White Cobalt Blue (hue OK)
Olive Green Lemon Yellow
Alizarin/Rose Madder Flesh Tint
Burnt Sienna Yellow Ochre
Spectrum Violet Naples Yellow
OPTIONAL: Cad Red or red scarlet is fine Cad Yellow.
Pop in your favorite colours so you can combine. If you feel you
